A member has claimed on the BMDC-Work list that other members are "promoting a white nationalist hate group" and are engaged in "hate speech." The member gave no specifics. Failure to provide specifics for such a serious charge against other members is itself problematic and disruptive.
---Evidently the member considers a YouTube interview with a high-school female athlete, Chelsea Mitchell, to be "promoting a white nationalist hate group" because the video was distributed by the Alliance Defending Freedom.
The claim that BMDC member engage in "hate speech" may be based on some members' use of the term "biological male" and "biological female". The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) states:
"Phrases like "biological males" or "biological boys" ... intentionally misgender transgender women and girls and attempt to eliminate the distinction between gender identity and biological sex" (https://www.adl.org/resources/report/tracking-anti-transgender-rhetoric-online-offline-and-our-legislative-chambers).
Such nonsensical claims of "misgendering" are now typical of "civil-liberties" type groups heavily influenced by the Democratic Party, which has never cared about civil liberties and now seeks to outlaw all dissent from the gender-identity cult's claims. These claims include the denial that sex exists or that it is biological or observable. The current required religious belief is that a person's sex is determined by the person's self-perception. The medical profession has tried to dodge this witch-hunt by using terms like "male natal parts" for males.
The gender-identity cult is autocratic and claims the right to outlaw any speech and ideas it considers "transphobic."
It is only by erasing all reference to observable reality, and to biology, in relation to sports, for example, that this cult can hope to enact into law the idea that men who claim to be women can enter any all-female space whatsoever. The cult has great power, via one of the two main parties in the US, but its view of sports is rejected more than 2-to-1 in recent Gallup polls. The rate of rejection has risen by 8% since 2021.
I don't think that BMDC needs to decide how to define "woman." There is room for members with different definitions of words. However, BMDC needs to be clear that there is room for members with different definitions. Otherwise, members of the gender cult will be enabled to drive out all dissent from their views, including dissent from their purge intentions.
